What even is "EXTRA"?

For me, it's Heart Evangelista creating gorgeous masks from spare ribbons found in her designer bag's packaging. She didn't have to, but she had time and the creativity to spare. She started a movement of making something that we had to wear, from plain to beautiful. A number of people praised her creativity but a fair share of netizens criticized her, because for them, it's insensitive and reeked of elitism.

A lot of us would call those who put effort in how they look narcissistic or snobbish or out of touch. Don't you find that odd? When we see someone who's very put together, the first thought we have is negative? Sometimes, even putting them down and saying they would probably look better without the thick eyelashes or ruby red lips. Or telling them to read the room and people should look ugly when they help. They tell them it's good to look "natural" or else you'll look like you're trying too hard.

It's annoying cause people keep telling us to be ourselves but what they really mean is "Be yourself!! but not too much because I will start hating on you since people should fit in this mold I have made for them in my mind."

But, shouldn't we try hard? Everyone who made a dent in this world had a crazy idea then shared it to the universe without fear of rejection, without promise of acceptance. But even with those, we always have to try to be seen.
